This 8-week course is meant to introduce students to advanced techniques used in ceramics. This includes, but is not limited to: stacking pieces, throwing down, spiral wedging, one-pull bowls, large scale work(12in +), pulling handles from the pot, lidded vases, closed forms, altered forms (forms without bottoms), troubleshooting throwing problems, and coiling on the wheel. 

The intention of this course is to get better at ceramics, not to necessarily keep what is made. More importantly, the goal is to leave with the understanding that you can make work much faster than fixing it. The only requirement of the course is being able to center 2lbs of clay in under 4 minutes. 

Includes one 25 lb bag of clay. Bring your own basic set of tools or tools are available to share.

The instructor will send an email communication 1-2 weeks before class starts with additional details.
