Our classes are offered as 8-week sessions with weeknight and daytime options, catering to all experience levels.
Occasionally special classes are available, such as mold making.

Please Note

classes fill very quickly. after a class is sold out, the posting is removed from the website. each class session is 8 weeks long, followed by a 1-2 week break.

Each class includes one 25 lb. bag of clay. Additional clay is available for purchase.

Basic tools are available to share, but students are encouraged to bring their own set of tools. A basic tool set can be found at most art supply stores and includes a sponge, wooden rib, metal rib, large ribbon loop tool, double-ended loop tool, metal needle tool, wooden knife, and a cutting wire.

Open studio

Students are encouraged to attend open studio and work independently to develop skills and have extra time to complete work.

Class Offerings

Beginning Adult Wheel Throwing

Monday Evenings 6–9pm

Learn how to use the pottery wheel to make your own functional ceramics. You will learn the basics of throwing and trimming on the wheel, followed by glazing, to make your own food-safe mugs, bowls, and more! No experience necessary. Includes one 25 lb. bag of clay. Tools available to share. — $250

All Levels Adult Wheel Throwing

Tuesday Evenings 6–9pm

Learn wheel throwing basics or build on your skills with more advanced techniques. Refine wheel throwing skills and add elements such as lids, handles, decoration, or work on larger pieces. Includes one 25 lb. bag of clay. Tools available to share. — $250

Advanced Adult Wheel Throwing

Wednesday Evenings 6–9pm

Continue your wheel throwing knowledge with advanced techniques. Learn to stack pieces, throw down, make a one-pull bowl, focus on large scale work (12in+), pull handles from the pot, troubleshoot, and coil on the wheel. Advanced student requirement: have the ability to center 2 lbs. of clay in under 15 minutes. Includes one 25 lb. bag of clay. Tools available to share. — $250

All Levels Adult Wheel Throwing + Handbuilding

Friday mornings 10am–1pm
Friday Afternoons 1–4pm
Saturday Mornings 10am–1pm

Learn the basics or brush up on skills while making a variety of projects. Handbuilding techniques will be incorporated based on individual interests. This class also serves as an independent study for those who wish to focus on specialized projects with instructor support. Includes one 25 lb. bag of clay. Tools available to share. — $250

All Levels Handbuilding

tuesday evenings 6-9pm

Learn the foundations of the ceramic hand building process, along with an introduction to surface design and glazing. Use slabs, coils, pinching, and Kurinuki techniques to build drinking vessels, bowls, platters, vases, planters, and more. Includes one 25 lb. bag of clay. Tools available to share. Recommended additional tools to bring: serrated metal rib, needle tool, and a wood modeling/blending tool. — $250

Introduction to Mold Making

specialty class offering, 6 weeks

Learn mold making basics and make one- and two-part molds. Reclaim clay and cone 6 porcelain casting slip provided. — $250 + $50 materials fee
