Julie Burtch is a Detroit ceramic artist who likes pushing herself and her clay. Based at Sugar Hill Clay Studio, she explores the tactile nature of ceramics, encouraging a closer look at finger marks and textures. She mostly creates wheel-thrown, nonfunctional art that is fun to make and hold.
