Empty Bowls Dinner March 14, 2014 at Sugar Hill Clay and SocraTea

Together with Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, volunteers at Sugar Hill Clay have created over 500 thrown and hand-built bowls for a special fundraiser evening March 14th to benefit our Midtown neighbors Cass Community Services.  The goal of the national Empty Bowls movement is to raise awareness of hunger in our communities while financially supporting a local food bank.  We are poised to beat last year's donation of $8,000 thanks to the hundreds of volunteer hours spent producing a fabulous collection of bowls for the event.

For a $25 donation, attendees can select a handmade bowl and enjoy a variety of delicious soups from Midtown restaurants, Avalon breads, DeVries cheeses and delectable Greek pastries.  Local beer and wine are included in the donation price.  What a perfect event to share soup with others while raising money for such a good purpose.  The bowl you pick is yours to keep that we truly hope will remind you of the "empty bowls" that were filled due to your donation.
